Calling all mental health lived experience poets and writers!
Off Grid and Sectioned is a planned collection of poetry and prose on mental health lived experience, recovery and the healing powers of creativity.
I am searching for 10-30 contributors to help build a collection of poetry, 100 poems or more, on mental health. I’m looking for multiple entries, with a maximum of 10 entries per writer.
Submission themes include and are not limited to:
– Life Before
– The Impact of Trauma
– Trips and Triggers: The Warning Signs
– Episodes and Lived Experience
– The Eye of the Storm
– Creativity in Chaos
– Navigating Treatment
– Stories of Healing
– Messages of Hope
The aim is to relfect the life long journey of surviving and recovery, where mentalh health affects the lives of many. You could be a survivor of mental health yourself, someone who works with mentalh health clients or someone whose life has been impacted by mental health.
We are looking to collectively raise funds to publish the work, the donate proceeds to a chosen and agreed upon mental health chairty or concept.

Brooke Forbes holds a Bachelor of Communication from the University of Newcastle, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Canberra and a Juris Doctor (Law) from the University of Newcastle.
Hailing from Newcastle, NSW, on Abwabakal Country, Brooke wrote her debut memoir/ creative reflection collection, Survival is an Instinct, from her home base in Redhead. See peer reviews of Survival in an Instinct here.
Brooke has recently moved to Alice Springs, Mparntwe, to work as a lawyer.
In her spare time, Brooke writes poetry for this website and visits 300-year old ghost gums and water holes.
