It’s important, when driving, to focus on the road –
The winding stretch between Ilparpa and town has been a daily ritual –
a solace,
moments in time,
space for reflection.
This ritual forces my mind inward – unravelling layers of dreams,
layers of reality,
layers of visual obstacles.
The visuals flash past the windscreen in sequence,
jolting images,
without beginning or end.
And I’m wondering if it’s like to exist in this semi-permanence on an ever-going basis,
whether this fractured existence,
filled with though bubbles and moving images,
really is the way to experience life.
But for this morning the mist rises,
exposing an orange-pink hue,
unnaturally bright,
crimson could-lid reflections,
soothing a untangling mind.
