Town is modern,
Town is bustling,
Town is central,
Town is mending –
From all the broken hearts trying to find their way home, again.
One the edge of town lies Ilparpa:
Across the train tracks and home to the Clan Pans, reflections of clay-laden water and light.
Along the west ranges and through burnt out shrubs, the journey to arrival signifies survival.
Ilparpa is standing, silently, absorbing the light.
Ilparpa is home, for now.
Home to Emus,
Home to rescue kangaroos,
Home to sunrises over red dirt properties.
Ilparpa is home to art, too.
A private collection –
Sourced from the soul and shared with dignity.
There’s a balance between the two places, Ilparpa and Town, Town and Ilparpa – a symbolism of opposition and unity:
Town is bolshy,
Ilparpa is measured.
Ilparpa is along the ranges,
Town is edged by nature.
Town is a melting-pot,
Ilparpa is chosen.
Ilparpa is quiet,
Town is waiting.
